What is globe valve
The function of the globe valve in the pipeline is to cut off, adjust or throttle. The opening and closing parts of the globe valve, also called the valve disc, move along the center line of the valve seat. The change of the valve seat port is proportional to the stroke of the valve disc. Compared with the gate valve, the stem of globe valve has a relatively short opening and closing stroke, which is very suitable for installing on the pipeline to adjust the flow.
When the disc of the globe valve is opened, the valve seat and the sealing surface of the disc are out of contact, and the mechanical wear of the sealing surface is small, so the globe valve can maintain good sealing performance, but the globe valve also has defects, that is, the sealing surfaces may be clamped. Particulate matter in the flowing medium, resulting in loose closure and leakage. The valve disc of the globe valve has a small opening and closing stroke, and the sealing surface can withstand multiple openings and closings, so the globe valve is suitable for occasions requiring frequent switching.
When to use a globe valve
1. Pipelines for high temperature and high pressure media. Such as thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, high temperature and high pressure pipelines of petrochemical systems.
2. On pipelines where pressure loss is not considered.
3. There are flow adjustment or pressure adjustment, but the requirements for adjustment accuracy are not high, and the pipeline diameter is less than or equal to 50mm.
4. In the water supply and heating projects in urban construction, pipelines with a diameter of ≤150mm.
