In addition, under the conditions of the same diameter and the same material, the weight and volume of flanged butterfly valves are lighter and smaller than other types of valves, such as gate valves and ball valves, so on large-diameter pipelines, flanged butterfly valves can replace gate valves, Valves such as ball valves.
Wafer Butterfly Valve
The wafer butterfly valve is different from the flanged butterfly valve. It does not have a flange. The common wafer butterfly valve has only four bolt holes. When installing on the pipeline, it is necessary to use two flanges to clamp the wafer butterfly valve in the middle, and then use bolts to pierce the butterfly valve. The flange hole passes through the bolt hole on the butterfly valve to connect with the pipeline.
The structure of the wafer butterfly valve is shorter, the volume is smaller, and the weight is lighter. Among the small-diameter valves, the wafer butterfly valve has more advantages and lower cost than the flanged butterfly valve.
The common feature of flange butterfly valve and wafer butterfly valve is that there are hard seals and soft seals. Hard seals are suitable for high temperature and high pressure environments, while soft seals are used in normal temperature and low pressure pipelines.
