Valve corrosion, is generally understood as the valve metal material under the action of chemical or electrochemical environmental damage. Corrosion occurs in the spontaneous interaction of a metal with its surroundings.
There are two forms of valve body corrosion: chemical corrosion and electrochemical corrosion. Corrosion rate depends on the temperature, pressure, chemical properties of the medium and the corrosion resistance of the body material. Corrosion rate can be divided into six grades: 1. Complete corrosion resistance: the corrosion rate is lower than 0.001 mm/year; 2.2. Extremely corrosion resistant: the corrosion speed is 0.001-0.01 mm/year; 3. Corrosion resistance: corrosion speed is 0.01-0.1 mm/year; 4. Slightly corrosion resistant: the corrosion speed is 0.1-1 mm/year; 5. Poor corrosion resistance: corrosion speed of 1.0-10 mm/year; 6. Corrosion resistance: corrosion speed is greater than 10 mm/year.
